Nicholas (Nick) Roberts, Ph.D, Law Clerk
Nicholas Roberts combines legal training, military experience, and a passion for helping others. A J.D. Candidate at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, he recently served as one of only twenty-five first-year law students nationwide selected for the prestigious U.S. Army JAG Corps summer program. There, with the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, he sat first chair on administrative separation boards, drafted prosecution memoranda and motions for courts-martial, and advised commanders on complex legal matters.
Before entering law, Nicholas earned his Ph.D. in History and taught as a professor at Norwich University, where he mentored cadets and directed the International Studies program. His award-winning scholarship, based on fieldwork in archives across four continents, has given him a global perspective, a reputation for meticulous research and analysis, and the attention to detail required for advocacy and uncovering complex stories while presenting them with clarity and impact.
What makes Nicholas stand out, however, is his approach to clients. Having worked with soldiers, cadets, and students from diverse backgrounds, he understands the importance of listening, empathy, and building trust. He is committed to helping service members, veterans, and federal employees feel heard while navigating some of the most challenging moments of their careers.
Outside of his legal and academic work, Nicholas enjoys sharing his love of history through writing and speaking, and he finds balance in music and the outdoors. His global perspective and down-to-earth mindset allow him to connect with clients not just as cases, but as people whose stories deserve to be told with care and integrity.
